BBC World News to unveil new studios, new programming, new presenters!
BBC’s international television news channel, BBC World News, is unveiling a dramatic new look next week when it re-launches from new studios in central London.
The channel will now feature fresher line-up of programmes and presenters, and will be investing heavily in additional newsgathering capacity around the world.
Some interesting facts about the new studios:
- BBC World News will be occupying three new High Definition studios, including one with full virtual reality capability
- The studios are all housed underground to ensure that noise from the nearby underground train system does not impact video and sound quality
- Now complete, this 90,000 square metre structure, which comprises of seven floors above ground and three below, will provide state-of-the-art, digital broadcast facilities for staff in Television, Radio (including the World Service), News and Online
- A fully automated studio, comprising of six robotic cameras, five of which are mounted on a track enabling them to move around the set and give programmes dynamic movement, fluidity and an exciting range of camera shots
