BCCI sets base price of Rs 25 cr per match for digital rights, higher than TV rights

With the growing presence of brands and viewers on digital for cricket, this medium is assuming greater significance that the traditional linear TV. JioCinema’s IPL success has shown how digital is beginning to steal a march over TV when it comes to streaming cricket.

Keeping in mind this changed equation, the base price for digital media rights has been set higher than the base price for TV by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as per media reports.

The media reports stated that in the Invitation to Tender for media rights for the BCCI International and Domestic Matches, the base price for digital rights has been set at Rs 25 crore per match, while the base price for TV rights for the Indian sub-continent has been set at Rs 20 crore per match.
