Beloved 'Udaan' actress and Surf icon, Kavita Chaudhary, passes away at 67

Kavita Chaudhary, a reknowned actress, known for her memorable roles in the television show "Udaan" and as Lalitaji in Surf commercials, reportedly passed away due to cardiac arrest on February 15.
It is particularly noteworthy that she played a pioneering role in portraying strong and empowered female characters, breaking stereotypes in a time when such representations were limited. Her portrayal of IPS officer Kalyani Singh in "Udaan" was a landmark achievement and reflected her commitment to promoting gender equality in the industry.
Her work both in front of and behind the camera, as well as her ability to keep her personal struggles private, speak to her professionalism and passion for her craft. All her friends and colleagues as well as the entire entertainment community mourn the loss of a remarkable talent.
Suchitra Verma, Kavita's mentee and a close friend, shared that the actor had been suffering from cancer for a few years. She paid the late actor a heartfelt tribute on Instagram and wrote, "Kavetaji wasn't just a symbol of women empowerment; she lived and breathed it. Her work inspired countless women to pursue their dreams, especially in the Indian Police Services. Her legacy of empowerment will continue to resonate for generations to come. While I find solace in knowing that she is now free from pain, it breaks my heart to realize that she will never pick my calls from now. May her soul find eternal peace (sic)."
