Bloomberg News and ACJ launch co-branded journalism program

Bloomberg News and the Asian College of Journalism ("ACJ") today launched India's first co-branded financial journalism post-graduate program, designed to equip students with new, essential skills needed in a modern global newsroom.

The 'ACJ-Bloomberg Postgraduate Program' will teach students the latest journalism skills related to writing and editing, digital and multimedia reporting, ethics, investigative reporting, fundamentals of finance and government reporting. Supported by leading financial press, some courses will be led by some of the country's renowned financial journalists and business leaders.

John Micklethwait, Editor-in-Chief of Bloomberg, remarked, "We're very excited to be launching this wonderful program with India's most renowned journalism college. With the combined network of Bloomberg News and ACJ, we developed a curriculum with some of the best minds in journalism, business and finance. Together, we are bringing the future of financial journalism to India, helping students thrive in today's fast-moving news environment."

"We're extremely proud to be partnering with Bloomberg News to develop what we feel is now the very best financial journalism program in India and this part of the world," said Sashi Kumar, Chairman of the Asian College of Journalism. "We've taken what's currently available to students to a different level, offering them knowledge and access to some of the most experienced leaders in journalism and finance. In today's competitive news environment, this comprehensive course will help aspiring journalists get a head start in the industry."

ACJ has also appointed Jarshad N.K. as the Dean to oversee this program. Jarshad was formerly the Deputy Editor at The Hindu Business Line, India's leading business and financial newspaper and website, based in Chennai.

Jarshad N.K. commented, "I'm excited to be leading our first batch of students through the inaugural year of this unique journalism program in India. We built this course from the ground up to be the most relevant and innovative financial journalism in the country today and we think the students will be getting a lot of practical value from it."
