Lord Krishna is the eighth manifestation of Lord Vishnu, the Trinity's preserver. Krishna, the deity of love, kindness, and compassion, was born at midnight in a prison in present-day Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, to Queen Devaki and King Vasudeva. It falls on the eighth day of the Hindu month of Bhadrava, which falls in August or September each year.
