Budget 2021 will lead to strong advertising growth: K. Madhavan

The Union Budget for 2021-22, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament earlier today, is being seen as a growth-oriented Budget by the industry. The industry has hailed the various provisions in the Budget to give a boost to MSMEs, start-ups and the massive push for Digital and Atmanirbhar India.

Calling it a growth-oriented Budget, K. Madhavan, President of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation, said that it will provide a strong and much-needed impetus to the economic growth engines in the wake of the pandemic.

Welcoming the several sops for the start-up ecosystem, Madhavan said, “The focus on privatisation and providing support for start-ups and innovation is likely to benefit the overall corporate sector and in-turn help the media and entertainment industry, as it will lead to strong advertising growth.”

“I believe this Budget can pave the way for the resurgence of economic growth in a significant and impactful manner,” he affirmed.
