CaratLane celebrates seventh anniversary with on ode to #WomenOfMettle!

CaratLane, one of India’s first and largest online jewellery store is seven years old today. To celebrate the occasion CaratLane is paying its tribute to women through its #WomenOfMettle campaign.

As a brand that celebrates the choices and individuality of the women of today, CaratLane also conducted a survey to honour the top women change-makers that the country is confident about in bringing home laurels and breaking many more stereotypes. The nation-wide study, titled #WomenOfMettle 2016 reveals the top seven following personalities who make the list of India’s Women to Watch Out For in 2016.       

The list of #WomenOfMettle 2016 is led by actor Priyanka Chopra with one-third of the votes (32.5%) for number one position, followed by corporate honchos Avni Shah, VP Product Management, Google Chrome and Kirthiga Reddy, MD, Facebook India with 30% and 30% respectively. Next up in the list are women from sports with 28% votes to Ritu Rani, Captain of Indian Women Hockey Team who recently led us to qualify for Rio 2016 Olympics and Sania Mirza with 24% of the audience rooting for her in 2016. Number 6 on the list with 16% votes is author Jhumpa Lahiri. Followed by Jyoti Deshpande, Group CEO and MD, Eros International with 14% votes for the 7th position. Interestingly, the study discovered varied choice among men and women, and also among different age-groups. (Check attached survey report for more).

With #WomenOfMettle as an anniversary campaign, CaratLane chronicles the women changemakers and the milestones of gender equality that the country has witnessed over the past seven years, alongside its own journey.
