Casio India commenced its new initiative ‘Gyaan ki Roshni’

Casio, one of the world's leading manufacturers of consumer electronics commenced the latest edition of its social initiative ‘Gyan Ki Roshni’ for this financial year in partnership with the Government of Assam.

‘The initiative was conceptualized by Casio to support underprivileged school children in India by providing them with free Casio scientific calculators thereby equipping them with tools to pursue mathematics and science-based courses. As part of this project, Casio has distributed 4000 Classwiz scientific calculators (their flagship model) to 200 government schools in Assam. This initiative is likely to benefit more than 1 lakh students in the state.

This initiative is a continuation of a similar effort done in 2021 when Casio donated 300 projectors to set up digital connectivity across underprivileged and backward communities of Delhi, Assam and Tripura.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Hideki Imai, MD, Casio India said “Our brand ethos being creativity and contribution, Casio India has always ensured that our offerings add value to people’s lives. Through ‘Gyaan ki Roshni’, we aim to boost scientific curiosity among students with a special outreach to students who are underprivileged and under-served.  Our scientific calculators will aid students in developing a superior understanding of scientific & mathematical concepts by simplifying the effort required in complex calculations. This CSR initiative is our first step towards reaching a mass audience of students and positively impacting their lives. We will keep coming up with new initiatives in the future that contribute to our society’s development.”
