Child Development clocks over 11 million searches in September 2011
In the Google Search Trends for the month of September'11, Child development and related words accounted for over 0.5% of search traffic by women and was amongst the top 10 areas for online research by women in India. Of the 1.3 billion searches per month in India, roughly 11.8 million searches were on child development.
A look at the keywords used in searches in a month**, "Child Education' tops the list with 940,000 searches followed by "Edu Games for Kids' at 823,000 searches and "for children games' at 110,000 searches. The fact that apart from education, child development, games and activities occupy the top 10 slots amongst keywords shows that today's parent understands the importance and contribution of games and activities in the overall enrichment of a child.
Rosenyn Kapur, MD & CEO, Kwakids Learning Pvt. Ltd. while speaking about the child enrichment trends said, "Today's parents are well informed and aspire for holistic growth of their children. Parents are constantly searching for new avenues, activities and opportunities to fulfill this need. I have personally visited some of the prominent kids' facilities across the globe as well as in India and could clearly see the gap in how child enrichment is perceived in India. The online search trends clearly show that parents are constantly on the lookout for information to nurture their kids better and through Kwakids we are looking to address this need of parents."
Kapur further added that, "Such facilities should provide a unique experience and ambience to children and parents. The classes and activities should be enriching, holistic and entertaining thus aiding complete mental and physical enrichment of children. There should be fun, clean, safe and secure environment for children to learn, play and grow. Parents should be able to not only spend quality time with their children but also participate in their child's development actively. "
