Colors regains and is back at no. 3 in Week 24

Colors which had been overtaken by Life OK a fortnight back is once again back to its original 3rd position. This week Life OK ratings took a nosedive with maximum slump in viewership thus bringing it to 4th position again. The channel lost 52 million TVTs in week 24 of TAM 2014. The only two channels to gain viewership in week 24 are Colors and SAB TV which registered a gain of 16 million and 26 million TVTs respectively. Star Plus though at no.1 is losing eyeballs and has registered a steep fall with a loss of 21 million TVTs. Zee TV and Sony Entertainment Television were the other channels which lost marginal viewership this week. A return to the original ranking order of the GECs is seen in the viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 24, 2014 (June 8  – June 14 ) for CS 4+, HSM markets.

Detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 24 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

Star Plus though steady at first position and top of the GEC chart has lost maximum  viewership and registered a further drop this week to record  625842  million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 647073 million GVTs recorded last week.  The channel has lost 21 million TVTs this week

Zee TV at 2nd position too saw a drop  in viewership as it recorded 375662  million GVTs (last week 382949 GVTs) thereby registering a  loss of 7  million TVTs
Colors Viacom 18 back to its no. 3 position gained 16 million TVTs in week 24 as it recorded    365827 million GVTs as against last week’s 349916 million GVTs

Life OK viewership plunged as it recorded 319452 million GVTs this week (last week 370566   million GVTs) .The channel once again occupies 4th position as a result of decline in viewership
Sony Entertainment Television viewership registered a marginal dip as it lost 13 million TVTs to record 300118 million GVTs (last week 313012 GVTs) and continues to be at no. 5 in the GEC list.

SAB TV at 6th spot recorded a score of 286993 million GVTs (261401 million GVTs) this week thereby registering a gain of  26  million TVTs
Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 24 2014:

Z Cinema gained viewership marginally as it recorded 206,409 GVTs as against last week’s 197218 ; Sony Max registered a huge dip and recorded 242,263 GVTs (308,987 GVTs) ; &pictures saw a gain in viewership this week and recorded 97,216 GVTs (88,669 GVTs) ; UTV Movies ratings picked up this week as it recorded 73,801  GVTs (70,693 GVTs) and the same holds good for

Star Gold which recorded 191,569  GVTs as against last week’s 187,138  GVTs. Movies OK registered a slight increase as the channel recorded 142,870 GVTs (139727 GVTs)

Star Plus

Diya Aur Baati Hum witnessed a dip in viewership and recorded 9361 TVTs (9626 TVTs) ; Saathiya Saath recorded  6856 TVTs (7723 TVTs) ; Epic series, Mahabharat garnered  6472 TVTs this week (5965 TVTs) ; Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fetched 6185 TVTs (6368 TVTs).  Saraswati Chandra recorded 3736 TVTs (last week 4075 TVTs) ; Veera clocked 5503 TVTs (last week 5841 TVTs) ; Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on the channel fetched 5326  TVTs (last week 5261 TVTs); Yeh Hain Mohabbatein fetched increased ratings as it recorded 6263 TVTs (last week 6644 TVTs)

Zee TV

Jodha Akbar ratings increased marginally as it recorded 7736 TVTs (7864 TVTs) ; Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se recorded 4308 TVTs (4343 TVTs) ; Doli Armanon Ki registered 3191 TVTs (3487 TVTs) ; Qubool Hai recorded 3791 TVTs (3918 TVTs) ; Sapne Suhane recorded 3814 TVTs (3352 TVTs) ; Ek Mutthi Aasmaan registered 2483 TVTs (2681 TVTs) and DID Li’l Masters 3 recorded  3143  TVTs this week as against last week’s score of 3241.

Comedy Nights with Kapil recorded a huge increase in ratings with 5582 TVTs (4353 TVTs) ; Beintehaa ratings dipped slightly as it registered 2832 TVTs (2911 TVTs) ; Uttaran recorded 2768 TVTs (3388 TVTs), Bani – Ishq Da Kalma recorded 2072 TVTs (2475 TVTs) ; Rangrasiya garnered 2216 TVTs (3007 TVTs ); Madhubala fetched 2282 TVTs (2653 TVTs) and Sasural Simar Ka registered 3894  TVTs ((4009 TVTs)

Life OK

Tumhari Pakhi recorded 2515 TVTs (2594 TVTs); Ek Boond Ishq –2312 TVTs (2410 TVTs), Savdhan India - 2348 TVTs (2550 TVTs); Adventures of Hatim – 1952 TVTs (1943 TVTs) ; Shapath - 2510  TVTs (2698 TVTs) ; Mahadev recorded 1883  TVTs (1899 TVTs) and Gustakh Dil registered 2019 TVTs (2543 TVTs)

Sony Entertainment Television

CID recorded  3411  TVTs (3681 TVTs) ; Maharana Veer Pratap – 3341  TVTs (3071 TVTs), Ek Nayi Pehchan- 1211 TVTs (1191 TVTs), Encounter – 1210 TVTs (1264 TVTs); Both shows, Crime Patrol which registered 2154 TVTs as against 2411 TVTs last week and  Entertainment Ke Liye which recorded 2222  TVTs (2374 TVTs) witnessed a drop in viewership in week 24

SAB TV

Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma gained eyeballs as it registered 6159 TVTs (5898 TVTs); Chidiya Ghar – 2448 TVTs (2180 TVTs) ; Lapataganj recorded 1805 TVTs (1534 TVTs) ; Jeanie Aur Juju registered a steep climb with 3075 TVTs (1284 TVTs) & popular show Bal Veer on the channel recorded  2089 TVTs (2211 TVTs).
