Crakk Review: Vidyut Jammwal fails to revive a stale tale

An over-the-top extreme sports actioner, which brought back the nightmare of last year's Ganapath, Crakk is likely to entail losses for action star Vidyut Jammwal, who is also its producer. The less than fifty audience at Citylight Cinema, Mahim is indicative enough...

With basic plot reminiscent of Soham Shah's Luck (2009), which had Sanjay Dutt hosting a dangerous sports game where participants either win or die, we have Arjun Rampal playing Sanju Baba here while Vidyut is his tough participant cum opponent. To add some personal touch to the story, Jammwal's dear brother had been a past finalist in this deadly tournament but got killed by Rampal.

Nora Fatehi and Amy Jackson provide ample glamour quotient though I couldn't decifer their characters totally. One is a Polish cop speaking Hindi while the other is apparently Rampal's aide but later switches over to Vidyut's side. Why, how?? Aww, never mind!!

It's kinda futile to review (or rant) when the director completely surrenders to his stunt choreographer to call the shots. Admittedly, the action set pieces with Jammwal at the helm, are truly awesome. The climactic cycle race will surely make you clap. Sadly, the rest of Crakk only justifies its title!!!
