DD Free Dish e-auctions: 65 channels win MPEG-2 slots for FY2023-24 for Rs 1069.60 cr

The 67th e-auctions for DD Free Dish MPEG-2 slots have been concluded and the results are out. As per the information available, a total of 65 TV channels have won the MPEG-2 slots spanning 6 Buckets. The total money earned in these 6 buckets amount to Rs 1069.60 crore for FY2023-24.

The Buckets made available for the 67th e-auctions include:

  • Bucket A+ - Hindi GECs
  • Bucket A – Hindi Movie Channels; and Teleshopping Channels (All languages)
  • Bucket B – Hindi Music Channels; Sports (Hindi) Channels; and All Channels of Bhojpuri language
  • Bucket C – News and Current Affairs (Hindi) Channels
  • Bucket D – All other remaining Genre of Hindi; Devotional/ Spiritual/ Ayush; All Genres of Marathi, Punjabi Urdu Channels; News and Current Affairs (English) Channels
  • Bucket R1 – This bucket is for all channels in languages not covered in the other 5 buckets.

Bucket A+

As per information available, there were a total of 11 applicants for this slot and all 11 won slots, including Manoranjan Grand, which paid the highest bidding amount at Rs 17.80. The broadcaster renewed its slot for the period April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.

Bucket A+ received a total of Rs 189.65 crore for FY2023-24, as compared to Rs 129.15 crore earned in FY2022-23.

Nazara and Shemaroo Aashirwaad are te two new entrants in this slot.

Bucket A

There were a total of 20 applicants for the Bucket A slot, of which 19 won the bids. Bucket A garnered total revenue of Rs 329.55 crore for FY2023-24, as compared to Rs 288.92 crore in FY2022-23. There are three new entrants in the list of bidders – Star Gold Thrill, Dil Se (Movie Plus), and Sanatan (Dishoom). Goldmine Bhojpuri and Manoranjan Prime channel shifted from Bucket B to Bucket A.

B4U Movies, Colors Cineplex, B4U KDAK, Zee Anmol Cinema, B4u Dhamaka, Star Utsav Movies, Colors Cineplex Bollywood, Sony Wah, Goldmines Bollywood, Enter 10, Dhinchaak, Dhinchaak 2, Movie Plus, ABZY COOL, and ABZY Movies have renewed their slots.
