Debabrata Mukherjee set to join Bata Corporation as the CEO

Debabrata Mukherjee, who is an industry veteran with more than 29 years of experience, is assuming the responsibility of CEO for Bata Corporation, Bangladesh. In his new role, he will be reporting to Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, President APAC region. In the industry he is also fondly called as Debu Da or Debu, and is resigning from his role as the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Emami Agrotech. In his previous role he was offering strategic portfolio leadership to the edible oils business with complete P & L responsibility for the food business. 

He started his career with Unilever India and after staying there for four years, he was appointed as the Franchise Manager for Mumbai at Coca-Cola in the year 1998. He joined the United Breweries group in the year 2019, and was in charge of creation of a strong consumer centricity and laying the foundation for a strong portfolio for the organisation. During his tenure he had been overlooking an extensive set of global and local brands such as Ultra, Anmstel. Heineken. Kingfisher. He is an alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata and University of Calcutta. He has also served as an independent director on the board of ABP group. In the year 2014, he was awarded with the ‘beverage Marketer of the Year’ award by the International Advertising Association in the FMCG Beverages category. He has also been part of the Audit Bureau of Circulations Council, serving as the Chairman of the Council two times and a management committee member of the prestigious Mumbai Ad Club.
