This holiday season HISTORY TV18 brings to you the evolution in the celebration of Christmas in the US over the last five decades, including the impact of politics, media and television on the celebrations with ‘Christmas through the decades’ premiering on 16^th December every Saturday and Sunday at 7 PM.

Christmas through the decades will reveal how many of today’s popular holiday celebrations and traditions had their start in the 1960s, '70s, '80s and '90s. With experts and cultural icons offering their own insight and personal memories, HISTORY TV18 will reveal how your favorite holiday films, fads, television specials, songs, and toys are still part of your holiday celebrations today.

The 4 episodic series will showcase trends like how Christmas in the 1960s was a turbulent time, marked by the tragic loss of John F Kennedy and absent loved ones fighting the Vietnam war. The 1970s we traveled to a galaxy far away with our Star Wars action figures and visited Big Bird on Sesame Street to the 90s holiday season where Christmas began with cheer as Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev resigned on Christmas Day. Each episode includes interviews from pop culture experts and celebrities and covers popular music, TV specials, movies, toys and more for the featured decade.
