Finally, Sagarika Ghose says Goodbye to CNN IBN!

They were not rumours after all...! Resting on the seat of Deputy Editor - CNN-IBN, Sagarika Ghose has officially called it quits at the channel. Like a lot of her counterparts, who announced their movements, she also took onto Twitter to say ‘Goodbye CNN IBN. God Bless’.

After the takeover of the group by Reliance Industries led by Mukesh Ambani, numerous exits followed the deal. First it was the exit of the top management at Network18 right from Founder-Promoter Raghav Bahl, to B Sai Kumar - Group CEO, Ajay Chacko - Group COO and RDS Bawa - CFO.

Understandably, it was speculated that next in queue would be the editorial team, starting with Sardesai and Ghose. It was about a few weeks back that Ghose and her better half and IBN18’s Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted about their holiday; but the industry went abuzz wondering if the two may come back.

If further rumours are to be believed, Ghose may head to TV Today Network’s English news channel Headlines Today. For record, the speculation may not be brushed away directly as Headlines Today has recently roped in senior journalists Shekhar Gupta (at the India Today group level) and Karan Thapar. However, awaits confirmation on the same. Sardesai on the other hand, remains silent about rumours of his exit.

Ghose has been a journalist for over 23 years and has worked with The Times of India, Outlook magazine and The Indian Express.  She is the daughter of former Information and Broadcasting Secretary and DG of Doordarshan Bhaskar Ghose.
