Former Unacademy CMO Karan Shroff launches LightFury Games

Karan Shroff, formerly the Partner and Chief Marketing Officer at Unacademy, has launched LightFury Games, where he will serve as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. Shroff expressed his vision for LightFury Games to develop top-tier AAA game titles within India.

His journey began at Pixie Events, leading him to prominent roles at Wizcraft International Entertainment, Bertelsmann, and Xiaomi India. Notably, at Xiaomi India, Shroff spearheaded brand marketing initiatives, overseeing advertising, ATL campaigns, sponsorships, brand partnerships, media buying, consumer insights, and creative marketing strategies.

During his tenure at Unacademy, where he initially served as Vice President of Marketing and later as CMO, Shroff played a pivotal role in securing significant cricket-related partnerships, including collaborations with the IPL and endorsements from iconic figures such as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. Despite Unacademy's sponsorship of the IPL in 2021, the BCCI announced Saudi Tourism as the official partner for the IPL in 2023, prompting Shroff's departure from the company in 2022.
