Future group to set new heights

The Future Group seems to have set the new heights and goals for the new year. The Group has identified few new fruitful businesses to launch.

The latest from the Group is Indian-style hotels and schools to train entrepreneurs and help understand consumer behaviour. According to the reports, both the initiatives will go on stream in coming six to eight months.

The Group earlier set up hotels but dues to the collapse of Lehman Brother, the major investor in the fund. The business didn't work. Now besides setting up hotels, the Group has also set its eyes on education.

It's not the first time that the Future group has targeted middle-income groups. The Group is already running middle-income segment targeting businesses.

Its hyper-store chain Big Bazaar, ethnic-wear chain Ethnicity, gold and jewellery brand Navaras, and no-frills store chain KB's FairPrice are all targeted at the mid-income section of buyers.
