Social networking websites, the current fad in India have also become part of every national event. Social networking site BigAdda.com, in association with Yamaha Motors, has launched India Bike Rally that will select 20 bikers, who will be later grouped in 10 teams, from India through IBR.BigAdda.com and set them off on a 21 day ride, covering seven states and a distance of more than 4,500 KMs.

Registrations for the participation are open on the site till November 20. The rally is expected to begin on December 9, 2009 at Mumbai and finish in Pune.

According to the plan, during the course of the rally, the bikers will race through the Indian landscape discovering what the real India is all about, observing people as they are, in their own environments.

During the rally, the bikers will stop each day at a village or town as per their route map, camping there for the night. At these 'pit stops', the bikers will be given certain interesting tasks that they must successfully complete.

Besides promoting the initiative on Twitter and YouTube, BigAdda is also launching a "call for entry' initiative where the company will go to 50 colleges and multiplexes in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata to invite people for registering their profiles on IBR.BigAdda.com.
