Gowardhan adds 'Fresh Paneer' to its portfolio

Parag Milk Products (Pvt.) Ltd, manufacturers of Gowardhan and Go brands, launched Gowardhan Fresh Paneer made from 100% Cows’ milk, profuse with proteins and vitamins. Paneer known as Indian cottage cheese is the largest category in volumes and value, after liquid milk in the dairy segment.

For decades, Paneer has traditionally been made either at home or local dairies and distributed locally. Out of the one lakh metric tons Indian cottage cheese market, bulk is ruled by unorganized segment. Over years, with exposure to global market and growing incomes, consumers preference is shifting from homemade or local paneer to branded products, a trend also observed in case of dahi.
