It is imperative that a country’s healthcare system is robust, resilient, and equipped to handle any unforeseen scenarios. Investing in healthcare is always a smart investment. However, the challenge arises in accessibility, especially when it comes to one’s health records. MyDigiRecords, an app that enables people to take control of managing and organising their health data, including immunizations and medication, was founded to bridge this gap.

Dedicated to empowering consumers by providing them complete control over their health information through a centralised platform that is available 24x7 year round, MyDigiRecords helps people make better, more informed healthcare decisions. Allowing people to access every aspect of their health data, from registration to medication, immunization, and even billing, MyDigiRecords is an app that benefits every stakeholder, including the government, women and children.

In conversation with Adgully, Dr Saroj Gupta, Founder & CEO, MyDigiRecords, speaks about her journey as an entrepreneur, how her company intends to overcome the traditional limitations and inefficiencies in healthcare record management, embracing failures as learning opportunities, and more.

What was the inspiration behind starting MyDigiRecords?

The inspiration behind MyDigiRecords was driven by a desire to overcome the traditional limitations and inefficiencies in healthcare record management. After years of experience in academia and the medical field, as well as my own personal experiences, I saw first-hand the impact that gaps in health records can have on patient care and health outcomes. We recognised the need for a secure, accessible, and streamlined platform. We set out to leverage technology to bring a patient-centric approach to health data management, making it easier for both healthcare providers and patients.

How would you describe your startup’s mission and vision? What are your long-term goals?

Our mission at MyDigiRecords is to empower patients to make better decisions about their health by revolutionising health record management, ensuring patients and providers have instant, secure access to comprehensive health data. Our long-term goals include the continuous enhancement of our platform and features, global expansion to impact healthcare systems worldwide, and the promotion of digital health literacy. We aim to be a leader in digital healthcare, driving forward the digitisation and personalisation of healthcare.

What differentiates your product from others in the market? What unique value do you offer to customers?

Could you walk us through your target market and customer segmentation? Who are your ideal customers, and how do you plan to reach them?

Our target market includes healthcare providers and patients who value digitised, easily accessible health records. We aim to serve all segments, from large hospitals and clinics to individual healthcare practitioners and patients.

Our strategy to reach our ideal customers involves a combination of direct outreach, PR activities, and digital marketing campaigns. We are also leveraging strategic partnerships and collaborations to broaden our reach.

What are the biggest challenges that you’ve faced so far in building your startup? How have you overcome them, or how do you plan to address them in the future?

As with any startup, we’ve faced challenges, including ensuring interoperability with various healthcare systems and earning user trust in data security. We’ve tackled these by focusing on robust system integrations, obtaining certifications like ABDM, and building a platform with advanced security measures.

How do you stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies? How do you incorporate them into your startup’s strategy and product development?

We regularly monitor industry trends and emerging technologies through continual research, attending relevant conferences, and engaging with thought leaders in the field. These insights guide our strategy and product development, ensuring we remain on the cutting edge of healthcare technology.

What would be your message for budding entrepreneurs?
