How Trell helped this IT exec to become a top-notch content creator

Priscilla Joseph, a content creator on Trell, left her well-paying IT job to pursue her passion. She joined Trell a year ago in February 2021, where she started creating content on beauty and make-up. Trell has supported her throughout the journey with grooming programs, scripting, editing and more. In conversation with Adgully, Priscilla Joseph speaks about her journey with Trell, how the platform has helped her fulfill her dreams, how she is inspiring other content creator to follow their dreams and more.

What was the reason or inspiration behind joining Trell?

Make-up and beauty are something that I am very passionate about. I always wondered how I could covert this hobby of mine into a full-time profession and source of sustainable income. I started creating make-up videos on multiple platforms and observed that my subscribers were also keen to know about the products that I was using and where they could purchase them. This is where Trell comes in. When I joined the platform, I was very new and lacked knowledge of content creation and editing processes. Trell provided me with simple-to-use tools for content creation, as well as seasoned professionals who assisted with numerous aspects like scriptwriting, presentation, lighting, and camera positioning, among others. Trell’s support system aided me in improving my whole content creation journey, resulting in income opportunities. Additionally, it reassured me that content creation is a viable full-time career option.

Apart from the fact that it’s the go-to destination for young people to create and share informative lifestyle content, users can also shop beauty, skincare, fashion products on the same platform. Trell actually solves a need that my subscribers have.

It’s a year now that you have been encouraging people via your content on Trell. How was the journey of following your passion been?

The learning experience on Trell has been remarkable and the entire journey so far has been nothing short of wonderful! The platform has given me the opportunity to create over 150 content videos on my field of passion – that is, beauty. It was always my dream to work with big brands and Trell made it possible by driving associations with various international and top-selling brands, empowering me to refine and earn through my content, and thereby building an engaged community of 3.4 million followers.

What made you choose Trell over your 9-5 IT job?

Like everyone else, I, too, relied on a 9-5 job for financial stability. Content creation was just a hobby for me, which I was balancing along with my work. In course of time, I realised that creating these content videos made me happy, inspire millions of young brown girls to accept their skin and build a community of like-minded individuals. It provided a sense of freedom and confidence, post which there was no looking back. Most importantly, it led me to become who I am today!

Eventually, there came a time where I had to weigh my career options. This was when I realised that the creator economy in India is growing fast, providing ample scope for creators to grow and create their niche. I was skeptical in the beginning, yet took a leap of faith by choosing content creation as a full-time career. Today, when I retrospect, I realise that I made the right decision. Not only did Trell recognise my efforts and help me achieve financial stability, but it also allowed me to better myself. A platform such as Trell is pegged to boom and lead the industry, and I feel humbled to be a part of the collaborative success story.

What are your vision and expectations for upcoming years?

I have the vision to inspire more women through my inclusive content. Unfortunately, there is a stigma associated with dark skin, which I want to break. I want to send out a strong message that they are not alone. It is imperative that every woman feels confident in their skin and hence, I wish to engage with brands that prove that skin colour is not a barrier to achieving your dreams! I would like to steadily grow my audience base and conduct professional workshops on makeup. In the future, I am interested in launching products that are suited for brown skin tones.
