IDfy simplifies data protection for citizens with exclusive comic book

As part of a public awareness campaign, IDfy, India's leading Integrated Identity platform, has recently launched a comic book titled "DPDP Dilemma with Consent Chaudhary." The comic explores scenarios where user consent and data security are compromised due to a lack of awareness about the DPDP Act and negligence towards the content in terms and conditions agreements.

The comic features Mr. Chaudhary, who engages in a conversation with a devil and an angel, illustrating how citizens can be misled into permitting companies to misuse their sensitive data for personal gain. Through a series of scenarios, the comic aims to educate users about the DPDP Act, empowering them to gain a clearer understanding of their data and privacy rights. Additionally, the comic seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of consent management.

Ashok Hariharan, CEO and co-founder of IDfy stated, “I've been involved in shaping the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act since early 2019, working closely with partners like FACES and legal experts at NDA and Ikigai Law. Together, we've advocated for open standards and are now helping data fiduciaries, along with reputable consulting firms, on their compliance journeys. At IDfy, we're passionate about simplifying the DPDP Act for users to raise awareness about how it can protect their data and prevent them from falling victim to misinformation.”

The DPDP Act has a broad impact on various industries that handle digital personal data, such as banking, financial services, insurance, e-commerce, direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses, software firms, and healthcare and diagnostics services. The regulatory changes are expected to have a significant effect on these sectors, emphasizing the importance of consent management and data privacy to comply with the provisions of the DPDP Act of 2023.
