India brings home 16 awards at AdFest 2019

Indian agencies secured a total of 16 awards at the recently concluded AdFest 2019 that took place in Pattaya, Thailand. Taproot Dentsu topped the table for India with 4 awards. Fifty-six jury members from 22 cities chose this year’s winners, guided by Grand Jury President Mark Tutssel, Executive Chairman and Global Chief Creative Officer at Leo Burnett Worldwide, Chicago.

With Lotus Roots being an integral part of our awards portfolio, it is critical that we have an all-star jury of experts in their field who represent different cultural perspectives from markets around the world. This year, I am also delighted that so many female leaders accepted our invitation to join the AdFest jury, making this year the highest quota of female jurors in our festival’s history.” 

Founded in 1998, AdFest not only raises the standard of creative excellence in the region, it also celebrates the uniqueness of local culture. It is a learning hub for those in the communication industry through showcasing of the region’s best creative works and inspiring content from experts in various disciplines. 

AdFest is included in the WARC Rankings, successor to The Gunn Report, which combine the winners’ lists from the world’s most important awards to establish the annual worldwide league tables for the global advertising industry. 

Taproot Dentsu’s 4 awards came from different verticals – Best Integrated Design Campaign, Branded Entertainment , Outdoor and Design categories. All their awards came from Dulux Paints for two different pieces – ‘Painted by Paint’ and ‘Nazar Battu’ in form of bronzes. 

TBWAIndia got a gold and silver in design for their book ‘Blink to speak’.
Earlyman Films got two silvers – one in Cinematography and other one for Best Use of Music – both for ‘The story of Kaveri’ film.
Cheil Gurgaon fetched a silver and a bronze for their work, ‘Good Vibes’, in Mobile category in user experience and downloadable tool.
McCann Worldwide got a silver in Press for client Cigna TTK.
JWT won two bronzes – one in film, and the other in film craft for Blink Test.
Grey India got 2 bronze – one in media and the other in small scale outdoor for their work, ‘Sehat ka Batua’.
WATConsult got a bronze in the Mobile category for ‘Powerless Queen’ in mobile game. 

Besides these, India also secured 10 more Finalists across different categories.
