Instagram mandated Date of Birth data for security and privacy

In line with upcoming regulatory changes, Instagram is asking all users who have not previously entered their date of birth to do so in the app.

Users will be asked to enter their birthday in the new prompts, and if they do not, they will be blocked from using the app until they enter the required information. Instagram says it will test the new prompts "a few times" before imposing usage restrictions.

Additionally, when displaying warning screens on posts, Instagram will begin asking for people's birth dates as another measure to get them to enter their age.
