Ishteyaque Amjad to head public policy at Abbott Healthcare India

Ishteyaque Amjad has joined Abbott Healthcare India to head public policy. Abbott Healthcare, which is globally present, is expected to make $1 billion sales in India with products ranging for acute care and chronic. Amjad is presently the global head of corporate affairs at Godrej Group, having previous stints with Cargill and Coca-Cola. In 2010, Abbott paid $3.7 billion to buy out Piramal's Indian generic pharmaceuticals division. Following the pandemic, it was one of the first companies to create Covid test kits. In the 1880s, Wallace C Abbott, a physician and pharmacist, founded the corporation. It is based in the state of Illinois.
