Karbonn Mobiles partners with Hockey India; All set to host the 2012 Karbonn Cup

Karbonn Mobiles announces its association with the 5 match test series between Indian men and South African men and a 4 match test series between Indian women and Azerbaijanian women, hosted by Hockey India. To be named as the "Karbonn Cup", the test series is to be held from the 15th of January to the 22nd of January at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi.

Pradeep Jain, Managing Director, Jaina Group said, "We are pleased to host the Karbonn Cup and extend our support to the national sport. We being an Indian brand and Hockey being the national sport, the connection goes a long way in establishing the lost glory of Indian Hockey. India has always had a great tradition for hockey especially at the Olympic Games. We have won 8 gold medals at the Olympics and this is the highest among all national teams. This year 2012 being an Olympic year, the Karbonn Cup is all about supporting the Indian teams on the road to the London Olympics later this year."

The test series which will see hard fought competition between the world number 10th men's team of India and the world number 12th men's team of South Africa will see top stars from both the teams like Shivendra Singh, Birendra Lakra from India and Hykes Julian from South Africa in action. While the men's team will be in action from the 18th of January onwards, January 15th will see the world number 13th team of Indian women and the world number 15th team of Azerbaijanian women in action which will see hockey stars like Kiran Dahiya and Jasjeet Kaur Handa representing India and Viktoriya Shukarova representing Azerbaijan in action. The tournament apart from providing fast paced hockey action will also provide the Indian men's and women's Hockey team with the opportunity to prepare themselves for the Olympic Qualifiers to be held later in the year.
