Leo Burnett not to participate in Goafest 2014!

Goafest is undoubtedly the most spoken about and sort after event’s in the A & M industry. A couple of weeks back, we had reported that the Awards Governing Council of Goafest has extended the dates for submission of entries for the 2014 edition of Goafest Abbys. Understandably, rumors, speculations and controversies have begun doing rounds. There has been a lot of speculation on agencies participating in the race, keeping in the mind the debate arguments and debates that took place post the announcement of awards last year, which included accusations of plagiarism on awarded work, scam ads, etc.

Speaking about agency participation, there has been much talk of whether or not Leo Burnett will participate in the Abbys this year at Goafest. But putting all rumors to rest, Saurabh Varma, CEO, Leo Burnett India confirmed to Adgully that the agency will not participate in the Abbys this year. “This year, Leo Burnett India offices will not be participating in Goafest. It is not a strategic priority for us currently,” Varma said.

Leo Burnett now joins the ranks of Lowe Lintas which has skipped Goafest for many years now and Ogilvy, who for the first time in the history of the Abbys, was prominent with its absence last year.
