Manoj Bajpayee returns as a cop with ‘Silence 2’

Manoj Bajpayee will be seen portraying the character of cop once again in ‘Silence 2 - The Night Owl Bar Shootout’ on ZEE5. Along with Manoj, Prachi Desai will also be seen playing a police officer in the second part. The film also stars Sahil Vaid, Vaquar Shaikh, Dinker Sharma and Parul Gulati. The film is directed by Aban Bharucha Deohans and produced by Zee Studios and Candid Creations. The film is slated to release on April 16.

Speaking about doing a second part of this film, Manoj said, “Whenever you do the second instalment of your film or a show, you have to revisit the old season because you grow as a person and as an actor, but there are few basic elements that you have done while essaying a role, you should not leave that as it is the core of that character. I always try to remind myself what I have done in the past and what I should do now.”

Prachi, too, is coming back in the film once again, Talking about her long association with Zee, she said, “Whenever Zee calls, I am there for them – I did my first show ‘Kasam Se’ with them, then we have ‘Silence 1’, ‘Forensic’ and now I am doing ‘Silence 2’ with them.”

Elaborating on what silence means to her in life, Prachi said, “I think I am the kind of person who embraces silence. I am comfortable with my silence now. There are different kinds of silence that you experience in life. The most important one as an actor that I have learnt over the years is silencing the voice and noise of everybody else around you. Once you start doing that, then you do what is true to you. Since then you see me a lot more on screen because I guess somewhere I am getting that right.”

Director Aban said, “Manoj made the people so comfortable with all the actors, cast and crew. He would put on his moustache and he would be ACP Avinash Verma, a badass cop. He will not tolerate nonsense. He would look at you with those intense eyes and everybody would look at him like a mouse. But it was fun and there was much camaraderie between all of us. It made my work so much easier for the second instalment. It was a difficult film as it had more layers and the characters were more complex. For him, the whole thing was like an onion, where ACP Verma has to peel off every layer till he reaches the root.”
