McDonald's India set to serve up 12,500 jobs by FY 15

Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd., the company that operates and manages McDonald’s restaurants in South and West India will be engaging approximately 12,500 employees across the region by FY15. This drive at stepping up employment is in line with the company’s plans to expand their presence over the next couple of years from the current 161 (year ended March 31, 2013) restaurants to 250 by FY15.

Hardcastle restaurants created new jobs and hired over 150 Trainee Managers and Trainee Floor Managers at the restaurant level, from reputed Hotel Management Institutes across India at the beginning of this month. The company continues to focus on reaching young people searching for their first job.

Commenting on this initiative, Seema Arora Nambiar, Senior Director – People Resources Hardcastle Restaurant’s Pvt Ltd, said, “McDonald's offers young people a chance to start a challenging and rewarding career. In an era when staying with one company is a rare feature, McDonald's India has been building bright futures for young people from the ground up. In fact approximately 60-70% of our corporate office began at the restaurant level.”

“Not only does McDonald’s empower its employees to build successful careers, McDonald's has been consistently ranked among the Great Places to Work in India, with a recognized culture that fosters positivity, fun, and engagement for employees.  It offers world-class professional training and development that help give employees important life skills, such as teamwork and time management, competitive wages, comprehensive benefits and flexible schedules,” Nambiar added.
