Soumen Choudhury promoted to national business head at Reliance

92.7 BIG FM, the radio arm of Reliance Media World Ltd., has announced a significant top management movement, with the elevation of Soumen Ghosh Choudhury to National Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM. Soumen has been instrumental in shaping the growth and expansion of the radio station, being part of one of the initial team of people joining the Company at the time of inception. In his new role, Soumen will be responsible for all business aspects and the smooth functioning of the FM business across its 45 station network.

An engineer by qualification, Soumen specializes in Electronics and Communication and with a career spanning two decades; Reliance Media World Ltd. could have no more appropriate a leader, than this veteran to take the business to its next growth phase. Soumen began his career with Bharat Electronics Ltd. as an R&D engineer, heading the function of research in military communication. Soon after, he moved to the telecom sector at Motorola JV, where he was the Technical Operations Head. With stints in the media industry across companies like STAR, Radio City, UTV and Sahara, Soumen has spear-headed the technical requirements of various companies successfully.

Armed with rich technical and operational experience, Soumen joined 92.7 BIG FM in the capacity of Chief Technical Officer in the year 2006. His eye for detail, excellent people management skills and ability to turn around road-blocks at optimal speed saw his responsibility increase to taking on the role of regional head for East. Soon after, Soumen's role was further enhanced with the addition of the Business Head title to the regions of South and East. This latest announcement further elevates him to the National Business Head for 92.7 BIG FM.
