MIB seeks stakeholders’ inputs on Platform Services of MSOs

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has sought suggestions/ feedback/ comments/ views from stakeholders on the Regulatory Framework of Platform Services offered by MSOs. MIB informed the stakeholders that it proposes to put in place an appropriate regulatory framework on the “Platform Services” offered by multi system operators (MSOs) to their subscribers.

In this regard, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had made its recommendations dated November 19, 2014 and February 2, 2021 on the regulatory framework for platform services.

In a notice issued, MIB stated, “Any stakeholder desirous of sending their views/ comments/ suggestions on the regulatory framework for platform services and TRAI’s recommendations may do so through email at sodas-moiab@gov.in by May 23, 2022.” The Ministry clarified that views are sought only with respect to the ‘Platform Services” offered by MSOs.
