MyCaptain unveils ‘Power Talks’ for the youth to experience alternative careers

MyCaptain, an India-based online learning platform, announces the launch of its campaign ‘PowerTalks’ which aims to bring together students and young professionals to engage with the best talent from various industries, such as comedy, film-making, song-writing, marketing and event management, to name a few.

This campaign has been launched keeping in mind the concerns that students and families have towards alternative careers.

‘PowerTalks’ is a series of live sessions with industry experts that will help individuals understand the various career fields available in the market and that those are truly pursuable. MyCaptain has partnered with over 2000 industry professionals, including Indian YouTuber Tanmay Bhatt, Comedian and Actor Vir Das, Cinematographer and Filmfare Award Winner Jay Oza, CEO of Sunburn Music Festival, Karan Singh, Poornima Singh (APAC Marketing Partner Manager - Netflix), Singer and Songwriter Raghav Meattle, to name a few.

Each of these free live sessions will be for about 60 minutes where the industry professionals will share valuable insights about their respective fields and how they kick-started their careers. The participants will be given a chance to ask questions, making it engaging and more efficient. Given that students and young professionals are occupied with their respective schedules during the day, ‘Power Talks’ has been slated for late evening.

The live class by Indian YouTuber Tanmay Bhatt, also co-founder of the creative agency All India Bakchod, will be conducted on August 29, 2020 at 8:00 pm where he will talk about pursuing a career in content creation and stand-up comedy.

Followed by Bhatt, Poornima Singh, APAC Marketing Partner Manager - Netflix, will be coming in for her session on the 30th of August, where she will throw light on various aspects of marketing, especially in the entertainment industry.

Commenting on this campaign, Mohammed Zeeshan, Co-founder & CEO, MyCaptain said “In a country like ours where most of us depend on our parents for career choices, it has been difficult for students to explore the vast opportunities available to them. At MyCaptain, we want every student to experience their field of passion and get mentored the right way, before opting for a career. In pursuit of this objective, we have launched ‘Power Talks’ that will offer students real access to the best in the industry that will help them make the right career decisions. These sessions are for free and are focused on tangible actionable output.”

With the launch of ‘Power Talks’, MyCaptain is aiming to host 2000+ Free Live Sessions, in the coming year, for students to get a taste of each field and learn from the best minds in India.
