Nargis Fakhri debuts in OTT with Tatlubaaaz on Epic On

It's interesting to hear about Nargis Fakhri's upcoming debut on OTT platforms in the series "Tatlubaaz." Her portrayal of the character Isabelle Tripathi sounds intriguing, and it seems like she enjoyed playing a role that is different from her real-life personality. Sharing more about her role in the series Tatlubaaz, Nargis says: “I am playing an interesting character called Isabelle Tripathi. When I started reading the episode scripts, I finished all in one go. Isabelle is very spicy, she is always in sarees and she knows how to play with people. She always has a plan, and she knows how to use her sensuality to get away with things. I am obviously different from Isabelle in real life, I am more like a tom boy and a comedian. I am funny and people like that side of mine.”
Nargis who was been born and brought up abroad has a special place for hindi films in her heart. Nargis also shares her perspective on the growing opportunities for actors in the Indian OTT space, noting the abundance of good roles and diverse content. She says: “It’s actually amazing to see such abundance of good roles. Not only is there more female dominated content but for all the other actors there are so many opportunities to play great characters on OTT.”
Nargis, who has been part of films like Rockstar, Madras Cafe, Main Tera Hero, mentions that being a global actor with a different personality and an American accent hasn't been a barrier for her in working in Hindi films, emphasizing that she believes she fits well into the characters she portrays. She said: “I am happy to be myself. Isabel is desi but she is from a mixed background and has grown up in Benaras.”
Addressing the perception of her being choosy and not working much, Nargis clarifies that it's her choice to prioritize work-life balance and spend time with family and friends. She mentions her involvement in commercials and her work as a global actor, balancing projects in both the US and India.
Reflecting on her past experiences, Nargis expresses gratitude for being a part of the cult film "Rockstar" and reminisces about it, saying: “Time flies, when I look back, I just feel the gratefulness in my heart. This film had so much impact on the audience. It’s a blessing that I was a part of that film, while filming I have never imagined that this film will impact so many souls. While shooting in Kashmir we used to eat at Dhabas where I, Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali (we all are foodies) would sit in a circle and hog food.”
Besides Nargis Fakhri , Tatlubaaz also stars Dheeraj Dhoopar, Divya Agarwal and Zeishan Quadri in key roles. The series was shot in Banaras, Lucknow and Mumbai. The show is directed by Vibhu Kashyap and produced by 9pm Films.
