NDTV informs MIB about changes in its shareholding pattern

New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) has informed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) about changes in its shareholding pattern as well as the proposed new Directors of NDTV. The changes have come forth after the Adani Group took majority stake of 64.71% in the news organisation in 2022.

The disclosures have been made as per Clause 29 of the Policy Guidelines for Uplinking and Downlinking of Television Channels in India, 2022. This was informed by I&B Minister Anurag Thakur in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. He further stated that both the revised shareholding pattern and the list of names proposed as NDTV’s Directors have been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs for security clearance.

Meanwhile, NDTV on March 15, 2023 informed the bourses that Sunil Kumar had resigned from the position of Additional Non-Executive Independent Director of the company. In his resignation letter, Kumar referred to “some recent developments” that have “influenced me to reconsider my association with NDTV”.
