NDTV's Greenathon II a hit

After lighting up over 55 villages in India through TERI's Lighting a Billion Lives initiative, Greenathon II this year was again a success. The 24 hour environment show raised up to Rs 3 crore.

The second edition of this environment initiative aimed to provide solar lanterns to villages that would otherwise be without electricity for a decade or more.

It's the first of its kind green initiative for the environment. India's first ever 24-hour live event, The Greenathon, was shown across all NDTV channels from March 6-7 to raise awareness about the environment and find ways to create a cleaner, greener tomorrow.

NDTV's Vikram Chandra, Cyrus Brocha and the Green ambassador Priyanka Chopra hosted the show and a whole bunch of starry performance lent the glamour quotient to the initiative.
