Nimbus bags BCCI rights for Rs 20 bn

Nimbus has again renewed its television rights with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for another four years.

The deal started in 2006 will expire next year but as it has been renewed now the deal is till 2014 and is said to be worth Rs 20 billion. According to the reports, the said deal in 2006 had a renewal clause and that is why Nimbus got it without a tender.

Under the deal Nimbus is said to pay 310 million per match, earlier it used to shell out 197 million per match.

The bond will be furnished in January 2010.
