With over 10 million impressions and 2 billion views, the show is also a social media hit. Apart from soaring in popularity, the show has received critical acclaim, winning 11 awards over the years. The show’s impact goes well beyond numbers. Amazing people have featured on the show, like Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai from Chhattisgarh; while several have been recognized for their contributions following their debut on OMG! Yeh Mera India, like Pankajakshi Amman and Meenakshi Amman from Kerala, who were honoured with the Padma Shri. Similarly, the story of the late octogenarian sharp-shooter Chandro Tomar, first appeared on the show. She was then immortalized in cinema with the film Saand Ki Aankh.
