OnlyFans user count surges 17x since 2019: Data

During the last seven years, OnlyFans has witnessed its user base explode, becoming one of the fastest-growing social media platforms. Despite the controversies surrounding its adult content, the platform has witnessed an astounding increase in content creators, reaching record-breaking numbers this year, according to insights from OnlyAccounts.io.
According to OnlyAccounts.io, over four million content creators are currently active on OnlyFans, marking an impressive eleven-fold increase compared to four years ago. This remarkable growth underscores the platform's enduring appeal and the thriving economy it has cultivated.
OnlyFans, a marketplace for content creators to share their work, allows them to retain 80% of their earnings, while the platform receives the remaining 20%. Contrary to common misconceptions, a six-figure income is not the norm for most creators. Nevertheless, the platform continues to attract new content creators, creating an increasingly diverse and vibrant community.
In 2019, the annual report of OnlyFans' parent company, Fenix International, reported 348,000 content creators. Within just one year, this figure soared to over 1.6 million and has continued to rise. The statistics for 2021 demonstrate 2.16 million content creator accounts, a 35% increase compared to the previous year.
Last year, the platform approved approximately one million new content creator accounts, elevating the total number to 3.18 million. Official company data reveals that in the first seven months of this year, OnlyFans approved nearly 910,000 new accounts, propelling the platform's total user base to over four million.
This vast user base has collectively contributed hundreds of millions of pieces of content. According to the OnlyFans Transparency Report, the number of monthly content posts experienced a significant uptick in 2023. Starting at around 23 million in January and February, the total content posts surged to 28.3 million in April and reached an impressive 35 million in July, marking an all-time high. In total, OnlyFans content creators generated 200 million pieces of content in the first seven months of 2023, a substantial increase from the 125.8 million reported during the same period the previous year.
The surge in content creators joining the platform is a direct response to the growing demand for OnlyFans content. In four years, OnlyFans has witnessed a remarkable transformation. In 2019, the platform had 13.5 million users. Amid the global lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, the user base skyrocketed to nearly 188 million and has continued to rise.
In the previous year, almost 240 million individuals worldwide accessed and supported the content on OnlyFans, marking a seventeen-fold increase since 2019.
