Raqesh Vashisth replaces Karan Singh Grover in Qubool Hai

After considering lot of prolific actors from the industry to enact the character of Asad in Qubool Hai, Zee TV has locked Raqesh Vashisht to play the popular character. The channel was clear that besides being a good actor, the person who would bag the role had to be a thorough professional with a good track record in the television industry. Raqesh fitted the bill to the T!

The creative team from the production house 4 Lions and the channel were unanimous in selecting Raqesh as the lead opposite Zoya(Surbhi Jyoti) in Qubool Hai. It was after much contemplation and deliberation that they zeroed down on Raqesh. Says the team in unison, “Raqesh is handsome and good-looking and is looking amazing with Zoya (Surbhi Jyoti). The best and most important part is that he is known in the industry for his professionalism. We’re glad that he has agreed to come on board.”

On taking over the mantle of Asad, said Raqesh, “Its homecoming for me as my debut on television happened with Saat Phere on Zee TV. Qubool Hai is a hugely popular show worldwide and Asad is an enormously popular character. I’m happy that the creative team thought that I would be appropriate for the role. The year is ending on a very good note for me as my fans will see me all seven days! Monday to Friday on Qubool Hai and over the weekend on my dance reality show. Karan (Singh Grover) has already wished me luck and I’m hoping that I can make a make a place in the hearts of the viewers also soon.”

Zee TV had dropped Karan Singh Grover from playing Asad two days ago. His unprofessional behavior and lack of commitment towards the show were the primary reasons which made the channel to take such a drastic step against the actor. The creative team had a tough time dealing with his nonchalant and indifferent attitude and decided to replace him with immediate effect. Karan’s absence from the sets had writers of the show in a tizzy for the past few months and overnight parallel tracks were being written to keep the show telecast on as a daily fiction series. The show revolves around Zoya and Asad and viewers would have noted that Asad has been missing in action for quite some time now. The story was built around other characters last minute which took away the focus from the lead couple.

Ajay Bhalwankar, the Content Head of ZEEL, had earlier in his quote said, “Unprofessional behavior will be always accorded with strict disciplinary action. Actors should not take things lightly when they agree to be a part of a show as their erratic behavior can affect the livelihoods of many others who are working on it. No actor can hold shoots or dictate their terms and conditions to an extent that it hampers the show. We have initiated legal action and will announce his replacement soon.”

Raqesh will start shooting soon and will be seen as Asad on Qubool Hai from the beginning of the New Year! Keep watching Qubool Hai, every Monday to Friday at 9 30PM only on Zee TV.
