RED FM launches the hunt for Kolkata's 'Comedy Raja'

Following the success of the show, U-Turn hosted by RJ Praveen & ace comedian Kanchan Mullick, that saw the launch of Kanchan Mullick in the avatar of a Radio Jockey for the very first time, comes yet another rib-tickling initiative by RED FM - "Ey Kolkatar Comedy Raja'.

To add to the laughter and comic mayhem, RED FM launches the hunt for Kolkata's very own comic talent. The contest invites listener participation which will see Kolkataites battling it out for the most coveted title.

Commenting on this unique talent hunt, Nisha Narayanan, Senior VP, Projects and Programming, Red FM, said, "U-Turn has been running successfully since the last 5 years on Red FM Kolkata. The success of RJ Praveen and Kanchan Mullick's comic duo on U-Turn has encouraged us to take the genre of comedy a step ahead with this talent hunt. We come across comic talent hunts on television channels, but this genre will be explored on Radio as a medium for the very first time. Kanchan Mullick is idolized by many for his great comic timing and it will be a treat for the listeners to hear the contestants' match wits with him!"

In this one-of-a-kind comedy hunt airing on radio for the first time, RED FM introduces its listeners to a grumpy character called "Gomra Mukhopadyay', who challenges RED FM RJs to attempt the impossible and make him laugh. Kanchanda will support RED FM RJs to take up the challenge and entice listeners to accomplish this impossible task. Going forward, Red FM will conduct auditions to shortlist 12 of the most hilarious contestants across the city of Kolkata. These 12 contestants will be divided into four groups each of which will be mentored by Kanchanda, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent.
