Samtel Avionics names Puneet Kaura as MD & CEO

Samtel Avionics is pleased to announce the elevation of Mr. Puneet Kaura as Managing Director & CEO of Samtel Avionics Ltd. Previously he had held the position of Executive Director of  the company.

As MD & CEO, Puneet will take the lead in ensuring a top spot for Samtel Avionics as a successful Indian defence-aerospace SME through strategic tie-ups across the world. Under his watch, Samtel Avionics – along with its joint ventures with HAL and Thales – is set to follow an accelerated growth path to newer domains in modern avionics systems and applications for military and commercial platforms.

The growth of Samtel Avionics can largely be attributed to the involvement and leadership of Puneet Kaura. He has been the driving force in building Samtel’s core competence to compete on a global scale. Today the company boasts of an enviable list of international partnerships including stalwarts such as General Dynamics Canada, Honeywell, Curtiss Wright and other industry leaders.

Besides HAL & Thales, Samtel Avionics under Puneet’s  leadership is closely working with major Aerospace and Defence companies across the world and is a global supply chain partner for most of them. The company  is under various levels and kinds of partnerships with at least 5 of the top 10 international players in the aerospace-defence sector  industry, and has been  supplying to global majors like  Honeywell for more than 5 years.

Puneet Kaura has taken special interest in regular product quality upgrades and expanding  the product range and portfolio that Samtel Avionics can offer  to its customers worldwide.  From one product (MFD) for Indian market and one for global market (Honeywell), the company’s  product range has grown to include: Multifunction displays and Automated test equipment for Fixed Wing Military and Rotary Wing Military Aircraft; Rugged Land & Naval Displays; Airborne Panel PC for UAV – Rotary Wing , High end smart displays for fleet management and waste management; Rugged smart displays for armored vehicle applications for worldwide militaries; Helmet Mounted Displays and Infra Red Search and Track among others. All of these products have been developed by Samtel and its partner companies under the leadership of Puneet Kaura, and some of them are already into serial production.

Under his leadership, the company was  awarded the  Frost & Sullivan Hot Investment Opportunity Award 2009, and Indian Innovation Award 2010 by a leading Indian organisation. Puneet has also been recognised by Aviation Week magazine as one of World’s Top 40 leaders under the age of 40 in the global aerospace industry. Led by him, Samtel Avionics is poised to become India’s first complete avionics and military electronics firm in the private sector.
