Sanjiv Puri reappointed as the MD & chairman at ITC Limited

Sanjiv Puri has been reappointed as the Managing Director (MD) and Chairman of ITC Limited. The company has recommended an annual general meeting to seek shareholder consensus on his reappointment, effective from July 22, 2024.

Puri initially joined ITC in 1986 and later assumed the role of Whole Time Director on the Board from December 6, 2025. In 2017, he became the CEO and subsequently took on the position of Managing Director in May 2018. Puri was appointed Chairman on May 13, 2019. He holds degrees from IIT Kanpur and the Wharton School of Business, USA.

In addition, Hemant Malik, the CEO of the food business, has been appointed as a Whole Time Director on the Board of ITC, starting from August 12, 2023, for a term of three years. With this appointment, the company's board will consist of four whole-time company directors. Other board members include Supratim Dutta, Nakul Anand, and Sumant Bhargavan.

The 112th Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for August 11.
