Shony Panjikaran joins SPE India as Marketing Director

Sony Pictures Entertainment India (SPE), a film production and distribution company, has announced the appointment of Shony Panjikaran as Marketing Director. In his new role, he will be reporting to Vivek Krishnani, MD, Sony Pictures Entertainment. He will head the marketing & promotions across Sony Picture Entertainment India’s Local and Hollywood slate in India.

Prior to joining SPE, Panjikaran worked at Fox Star Studios, where he was senior VP marketing managing the Hollywood portfolio with films such as ‘Avatar’, ‘Deadpool’, ‘Life of Pi’ and the ‘X-Men’ franchise. He also spearheaded the strategy and media campaign for blockbuster Indian films like ‘Sanju’ and ‘Baaghi 2′ among others.

Krishnani said, “I am delighted to welcome Shony to the Sony Pictures’ team. His strong passion for cinema along with vast knowledge and strong capabilities makes him the perfect candidate to spearhead the marketing team. Apart from a great Hollywood line up, we have extensive plans in Bollywood and regional cinema and I am certain his vast experience will add tremendous value to the growth strategy of the company.”
