Snapdeal takes a green initiative on World Earth Day!

Snapdeal.com has come out with yet another innovative and eco-friendly campaign to plant a tree at just Rs 5 on the occasion of World Earth Day (April 22). This offer was available exclusively on snapdeal.com, where customers can plant a tree for just Rs 5/-.

The company has partnered with popular NGO "Grow-Trees' for this campaign which went live on 22 April, 2012. Grow-Trees.com is a web enabled social enterprise, working on areas like offsetting carbon emissions, improving wildlife habitats, and upgrading water catchment areas.

Customers will have to pay Rs 5/- on Snapdeal.com and a tree would be planted by Grow-Trees in the areas of Tegra, Karech, Thadi Beri and Dhimdi in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Customers will get an e-certificate for every tree that is planted.

This is the second time that Company has taken a green initiative after eliminating the use of physical vouchers from the buying process on the website.
