Sony Ericsson announces first mobile gaming tournament "Be The Master of Games'

Adding a third dimension to the communication entertainment industry, Sony Ericsson has announced "Be The Master of Games', India's biggest mobile gaming tournament across 11 cities. Flagging off on June 24, the initiative will bring alive the immersive experience of the recently launched Xperia PLAY, the world's first PlayStation-certified smartphone powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon mobile processor with integrated AdrenoTM graphics processor, bringing console quality gaming experience to end users. The tournament will be open for all ' from ardent gamers to corporate professionals, and even you!

The corporate gaming championship will be held across six cities ' Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune ' reaching out to more than 100 organizations. Endorsing the spirit of teamwork, "Be The Master of Games' will present an opportunity for employees to showcase their gaming skills, show teamwork and be a part of a national experience.

A joint report by KPMG and FICCI, based on Indian Media and Entertainment Industry 2011, suggests that the Indian gaming industry is valued at INR 10.0 billion and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 31 percent to INR 38.3 billion by 2015. In addition, the report states that the mobile gaming segment might become a more competitive alternative to handheld consoles with INR 17.1 Billion earnings expected through mobile gaming by 2015.
