Star Indian wrestlers Punia and Dahiya miss out on Paris Olympic Qualifiers

Indian wrestling stars Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya have been surprisingly eliminated from contention for the Paris Olympics 2024. Both Tokyo Olympic medalists suffered defeats in the national selection trials for upcoming Asian Championships and Olympic qualifiers.

Punia lost his semifinal match 1-9 to Rohit Kumar. Dahiya fell short in a high-scoring bout, losing 13-14 to rising star Aman Sehrawat. Notably, Punia did not participate in the third-place playoff.

These unexpected losses mean Punia and Dahiya will not be part of the Indian team competing for spots in the Paris Olympics at the upcoming qualifiers.
