Star Movies Select HD celebrates 1st Anniv with Book Adaptations Festival

With Star Movies Select HD completing one year, the channel will showcase a Book Adaptation Festival with some of the best films that have come alive from books. Star Movies Select HD’s Book Adaptation Festival will feature every Sunday at 1 pm and 3 pm starting July 17, 2016.

The festival will showcase well-known book adaptations such as – ‘Thank You for Smoking’, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, and ‘Atonement’, among many others.

Star Movies Select HD will paint the biggest canvas for these films across the country with an extensive multi-media marketing campaign that will reach its audience through TV, OOH, radio and DTH platforms.

Over the past year, the channel has showcased stories that left everyone spellbound. The channel premiered several Oscar nominated movies like ‘Gone Girl’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, ‘Birdman’, ‘Boyhood’, ‘The Theory of Everything’, and ‘Whiplash’, to name a few. It also introduced the concept of ‘Unreleased Premieres’, which gave its viewers an opportunity to watch movies which have never been released in India.

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ is based on the bestselling book by Lauren Weisberger and features Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci.

The Hundred Foot Journey:
The American comedy drama film starring Helen Mirren and Om Puri is a film adaptation of Richard Morais’ 2010 novel by the same name.

The Fault In Our Stars:
The film is based on the New York Times Bestseller by John Green. ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ trails the story of two teenage cancer patients who begin a life-affirming journey to visit a reclusive author in Amsterdam.

The Bourne Identity:
The Bourne series, which began with a single film ‘The Bourne Identity’, is adapted from Robert Ludlum’s novel of the same name. The series has become one of the most successful modern action franchises.
