Strike two for Digital Vidya's Social Media Bootcamp

Staying true to their name Digital Vidya has been touring the country imparting digital knowledge across the major metro cities. Pradeep Chopra returned for a second time to Mumbai for the workshops.

On the 4th and 5th of March, 2011, Digital Vidya set up camp for Social Media for Business at Le Sutra, India's Premier Art Hotel and as always they did not disappoint. The workshop was lead by Chopra with an introduction into social media as a whole. It covered the basics and more complex aspects of social networking. This gave the attendees an in depth insight into the workings and uses of different social networks. This workshop focused mainly on Facebook because of its popularity.

Both Chopra and Bhaskar did an excellent job of creating an environment where in people attending the workshop interacted with each other on a comfortable level thus, were not afraid to ask for help. They were involved in interesting exercises, group discussions and also made presentations based on the day's teachings.

One such exercise encouraged the attendees to join a group and try to increase its ratings and members by putting to use the knowledge they have gained at the workshop. This will be a week long exercise and results will be view and discussed at a webinar.

Founded on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, Facebook aims to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.

The bootcamp was once again successful in achieving their goal of teaching the many benefits of social media by practical usage of these social networks. | By Vanessa Azavedo [vanessa(at)adgully.com]
