Sun TV Network’s Q2 FY2022 revenues up ~2.50% at Rs 796.43 cr

Sun TV Network has reported a ~2.50% growth in its revenues at Rs 796.43 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2022, as against Rs 777.04 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

The total income for the quarter was at Rs 882.54 crore, as against Rs 894.66 crore for Q2 FY2022. EBITDA for Q2 FY2023 was marginally up at Rs 524.78 crore, as against Rs 520.58 crore for A2 FY2022.

The Profit before taxes for the current quarter also was marginally higher by ~1.23% to Rs 534.09 crore, as against Rs 527.58 crore for Q2 FY2022. The Profit after taxes for the current quarter stood higher marginally by ~1.88% at Rs 400.71 crore, as against Rs 393.32 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Sun TV Network, one of the largest television broadcasters in India, operates satellite television channels across six languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla and Marathi. It also airs FM radio stations across India and owns the SunRisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise of the Indian Premier League, SunRisers Eastern Cape of Cricket South Africa’s T20 League and the digital OTT platform Sun NXT.

Q2 FY2023 Highlights :

  • Revenues (excluding IPL) up ~2.50% for the quarter ended September 30, 2022 at Rs 796.43 crore
  • Advertisement Revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 342.53 crore
  • EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 524.78 crore
  • Profit after Tax was up ~1.88% at Rs 400.71 crore
