Telenor assigns media mandate to OMD

OMD has won the media strategy, planning and buying duties of Telenor Group. The win covers India, Pakistan and Thailand markets in the Asia Pacific. The win comes on the back of a multi-market media review.

India and Pakistan are new market wins, while OMD Thailand has retained Telenor’s post-paid business along with dtac, its subsidiary company in Thailand.

In India, Telenor reported Q4 FY16 revenues of Rs 1,436 million as against Rs 1,187 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The company’s Q4 FY16 operating loss stood at Rs 368 million, up from Rs 285 million in Q4 FY15.

Telenor India’s subscription base increased by 1.8 million during the quarter. At the end 2015, the subscription base was 16 per cent higher than at the end of 2014.

The Gunn Report for Media 2015 named OMD as Agency Network of the Year. The agency was the Most Awarded Media Agency Network of 2015.
